Newman‑Dailey’S Earth Day Travel Package Generates $2,002 For Coastal Dune Lake Conservation
Newman‑Dailey Resort Properties is celebrating a meaningful milestone for conservation on Florida’s Emerald Coast. Thanks to eco‑minded travelers who booked the 2026 Earth Day Travel Package at Sanctuary by the Sea and Sanctuary at Redfish, a total of $2,002 has been donated to the Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance (CBA) to support the protection and restoration of Big Redfish Lake, one of Walton County’s globally rare coastal dune lakes.
A Month of Purpose‑Driven Travel
Throughout April, guests who booked a stay at either Sanctuary property along Scenic Highway 30A automatically generated a $26 donation to the CBA. Their vacations didn’t just bring relaxation, they directly contributed to preserving one of the region’s most fragile and extraordinary ecosystems. “Our team is committed to protecting and preserving our local waterways, and Big Redfish Lake is one of the area’s rare coastal ecosystems,” said Jeanne Dailey, founder and CEO of Newman‑Dailey Resort Properties. “We’re grateful to our guests for choosing to travel with purpose.”
Big Redfish Lake is one of only 15 coastal dune lakes in Walton County and one of the few found anywhere in the world. These lakes are unique because of their intermittent connection to the Gulf of Mexico, creating a delicate mix of fresh and saltwater that supports:
-
Redfish and mullet
-
Herons, osprey, and migratory birds
-
Native coastal plants and wildlife
The CBA’s ongoing work with water quality monitoring, shoreline restoration, and community education, helps ensure these rare ecosystems remain healthy for generations to come.
A Vacation That Gives Back
Guests who participated in the Earth Day promotion enjoyed more than a beach getaway, they experienced the natural beauty of Big Redfish Lake firsthand. With direct lake access from both Sanctuary by the Sea and Sanctuary at Redfish, travelers can:
-
Kayak or canoe through calm, scenic waters
-
Stand‑up paddleboard at sunrise
-
Fish along the shoreline
-
Spot crabs, juvenile fish, and coastal wildlife
Luxury Meets Nature on 30A
Both gated communities offer a blend of natural serenity and upscale comfort, featuring:
-
Multiple pools & hot tubs
-
Fitness centers
-
Firepits & gas grills
-
Direct access to Big Redfish Lake
-
Complimentary daily beach service (two chairs + umbrella)
Guests of Sanctuary at Redfish also enjoy scenic pontoon boat rides to and from the beach, one of the most beloved amenities on 30A.
Four Decades of Stewardship
For more than 40 years, Newman‑Dailey has championed community service and environmental responsibility. From coastal cleanups to partnerships with local nonprofits, the company’s commitment is shared by staff, homeowners, and guests alike. This year’s Earth Day Travel Package is another example of how small actions, like choosing where to stay, can make a big impact on the Emerald Coast’s natural resources.
